As with the other Vampires and the Lycans, the prosthetic teeth were provided by David Beneke. Black contact lenses were also devised to finalize the appearance of the creature. The digital wings — built by Miguel Ortega in zBrush and rigged in Maya — were composited and rotoscoped with the make-up.

The artists at Luma Pictures were aided in lighting and rendering the wings by the make-up itself, which served as essential reference on set. For this, we had to custom create a volume deformer for Maya, which allowed us to trigger a series of animated displacement maps and targets controlled by a complex rig. Animation supervisor Cameron Gray and his team of animators could then move the deformer through the wing and watch the membrane retract and wrinkle, which helped in creatively reducing the wing volume, without getting the look of linear scaling.

Occasionally, digital wounds, gunshots, and blood were applied in order not to damage the suit, or have to sculpt scarred versions of the make-up — which would have increased both the budget and time for the special effects.

Simply put, Viktor had a human body to begin with. The original vampire takes Corvinus strain and bat bites to create. The event of Markus being infected by bat alters the Corvinus virus and creates vampire virus. When the vampire virus is applied to a human body, the condition is totally different.

The human bodies get transformed by the vampire virus, but they don't resemble their sire, Markus. What also interests me is this question: what would happen if the bat that bit Markus had bitten Alexander the founding father instead? Would Alexander have changed into a vampire? My hypothesis is: No.

After Alexander bonded with the plague virus that made him the first Immortal, he became truly impervious. In fact, he became more than impervious. His blood was so powerful that it could significantly influence Selene, enhancing her, endowing her with the power of evolution. It was the human part that made Alexander's children volatile and susceptible to the influences of bat and wolf viruses. Therefore, Markus and William, not as impervious as Alexander, became the blood leaders of vampires and werewolves. After the combination reaction, they became the Vampire and the Werewolf; the compounds were no longer volatile, because the unstable features had been erased. It was human DNA that could be easily influenced. Had Alexander's third child been bitten by a bat or wolf, he wouldn't have been able to "walk the lonely road of mortality as a human".

Yes, the Corvinus strain mutates only once. Quint's father, Jacob Lane, also infused himself with the Corvinus Strain. He did not have as many infusions, causing him to look different from Quint and not be quite as improved, but he was still extremely powerful and deadly in combat.

Another Lycan, Marius, is later revealed to also be this kind of Hybrid after feeding of a serum created with the blood of Michael Corvin. The only known Tri-Blood Hybrid is Eve. In her Hybrid form, her eyes are black, but still display the Vampiric blue irises. Her skin changes into a bluish color, that resembles Michael's Hybrid form, and her lips change from pink to black. However, at a quick glance, her appearance remains mostly human. Eve is able to survive eleven to twelve years without feeding and is still able to kill a Lower-Lycan by ripping its head in half and survive its bite.

She also manages to fight Jacob Lane, another Hybrid, on equal grounds, and kills him by ripping out his throat mere minutes after coming off Propofol, a powerful anesthetic. Her mother believes that, in time, she will become the most powerful Immortal to have ever lived, most likely second only to Alexander or even equal to his strength, assuming that he was indeed the strongest of all the Immortals. Someone naturally born from a Vampire and a Lycan may display yet a different set of characteristics.

Viktor's daughter, Sonja, a Vampire, fell in love with Lucian, a Lycan, and fell pregnant with his child. This type of Hybrid is implied in scenes discussing the pregnancy of Sonja by Lucian and by Sonja herself.

However, there is no evidence indicating whether this type of Hybrid would bear increased power or fewer weaknesses. As emphasized by Singe, Hybrids possess the combined abilities of both or more of their parent species, making them more powerful than either. Michael was able to fight Viktor immediately after becoming a Hybrid, and before his first feeding.

He can also bend steel with his grip, and kills the oldest of all Werewolves by tearing the top-half of his head off shortly after reviving from death.
