Why is tanning lotion so expensive
I figure if you want to get tan you will heed advice and take a few tips in stride. If one thing isn't working, try try another. Anyway you guys have some really great answers and I think I learned a new way to handle these clients who don't want to "waste" cash on lotions to get the look they want.
I'd like to thank you for this thread too We have the clients who say they have lotion, but you just KNOW they aren't using any. Try to sell that one You don't want to call the client a liar, but yet, you want to inform and educate them Originally Posted by MalibuBarbi. BB code is On.

Indianapolis Tanning Products Ingredient Knowledge As mentioned, understanding the ingredients inside your bottle of tanning lotion will help you get a better picture of why it is placed at a particular price point.
Expensive Lotions Pricier lotions tend to contain a higher quality blend of ingredients that have a focus on skin care, like moisturizing and hydration. Cheaper Lotions As for the cheaper selection of tanning lotions, you are not likely to see any of the above-mentioned, fancy ingredients, like tinglers, conditioners, and anti-aging elements.
We in the tanning industry are trained or most of us should I say to know what works best for each individual person. Btw…online tanning lotion companies selling online, have been blacklisted by Designer Skin and the rest of the manufactures of the industry…..
Think about that. Research is a powerful tool. I respect others opinions and this was just my experienced opinion. Tanning lotion prices are borderline criminal. There are no magical read: expensive ingredients, and development costs do not significantly exceed the average store brand hand lotion.
Every industry has trade groups whose sole job is to maximize industry profits. One major strategy is convincing customers of the exclusivity and superiority of certain products. This is not to say all products are equal — we all know they are not.. However, price is absolutely no indication of quality. Manufacturers use veiled marketing-based claims as though they were some scientific indicator.
This deliberate obfuscation makes comparing products extremely difficult, to the benefit of the manufacturers. Otherwise everyone would see their ruse and the market would no longer support obscene prices. This is mostly generic advice, applicable to most any industry.
Always be wary of product claims when the author has a financial stake in your purchase though even knowing this is difficult — trade groups often publish PR articles designed to look like independent analysis. Apologies… did not intend on such a long response. No, you will not tan faster. Your skin will burn bauecse sun-screen and abstaining from the sun are the only ways to not get burned. You age quicker, and it looks awful. References :. Everytime I have bought offline. I have bought if quite a few sites like amazon and tanning websites.
All without fail seem to not be exactly what they have in the salon. But honestly I still felt ripped off because I paid 25 instead if 60… But the quality was significantly less! Someone else was obviously making a profit off of a cheap knockoff lotion!
I am looking for a tanning lotion that I used about 15 years ago it was a set before and after it was the best stuff and the bottles looked like a tanning bed together.
Does anybody know or remember these lotions or no where I can get them? I always find it comical when an owner of a tanning salon trys to justify outrageous pieces for a product and limIt the channels which they are avaiLable through misinformation and fear mogering. Of course a salon owner is going to tell you not to buy in-store.
No difference, I tan evenly all over. Learnt is still used in the US and most European countries. Try to claim something just prove how stupid you can be. Tanning beds are unsafe however, tyrosine is fantastic. I am pale but do not burn… or tan easily. Pills however are the only way I have ever got a tan.
I would just like to say that whomever created this post is absolutely incorrect. I am an assistant manager at a tanning salon and I have been doing an experiment to prove that using a lotion with tyrosine in it, does indeed work. I apply a lotion in my left arm and I leave my right arm with nothing on it. After only 2 weeks, there is a significant difference in my skin tones.
We did do research — and so did the FDA who says these products are ineffective, unapproved drugs. You decide. I suggest you consider that one hundred years from now, people will be looking back on our medical science and especially the FDA as ignorant barbarians.
Fast forward another years, and the scientists of that age will look back on them as barbarians, so on and so forth. The honest truth is that we as a species believe we know more than we truly do.
Periods of intense radiation exposure are inevitable, just as with periods of intense cardiovascular stress. The point of getting regular mild exposure is to create a healthier system better capable of resisting catastrophic damage during unavoidable intense exposure.
Some theories and ideas in science last a lot longer than years. Einstein only served to modify those laws in a tiny way.
Science is progressing. Staying humble means accepting the data you have now, coming to conclusions based on that, and knowing that it may be wrong in some one. Nothing is inevitable. Look up images of people who applied sunscreen to only half their face. As for sun screen…. Oh sweetie. It was literally like one day I woke up and had a huge brown patch on my forehead.
Later I had three black moles that had to be surgically removed. Yes it made me look and feel great but honestly no amount of Botox or lasers will fix my skin. Without heavy amounts of foundation and concealer, which already makes me look old, I look about When you drive in the USA the left arm always gets more exposure to sun.
Many people that spend a fair amount of time behind the wheel of their car have a left arm that is slightly darker than their right arm. Other factors could affect the outcome of your experiment; driving a convertible for example, may show different results.
Unfortunately, your science is flawed and is more of an anecdote than an experiment. Next time, try a side by side comparison on an area that is not normally exposed to sun. Dear, every other week the FDA changes its stance on whether or not eggs have health benefits.
You need to increase dopa circulation to promote dual melanin production. Then you need to increase circulation to your capillaries and therefore oxygenation.
Then use an extending lotion with a good ATO inhibitor after you tan to sustain hydration and inhibit cancerous cell growth. Both are from the same mother company. Tip: It is best to use both a tingling lotion and a lotion that increases melanin production through Dopa, and has bronzes that work both instantly and long term. This helps circulate the dopa or dopa increasing substance through the capillaries when they open and provide even distribution.
If you live close enough to your salon Within 15 mins , shower with hot water for 15 minutes to open pores. Then apply tingling lotion. Wait 5 minutes and dress. This will promote maximum capillary circulation, skin oxygenation, and transport of melanin producing agents. Make sure your bronzer is not cooling, because that will work to reverse the process. Use your ATO inhibiting moisturizer daily after shower Luke warm on non tanning days. The best ones also have caffeine and oxygen.
Just grab a good prenatal vitamin with folic acid and that should help with all those. For added moisture, use deep tanning oil with Vitamin E the Walmart stuff you usually see people use at the beach mixed with a good serum lotion with Vitamin C throughout the day if you feel you need a moisture boost. Bonus if your serum contains caffeine or white tea, and avocado, safflower, Jajoba, apricot, and coconut oils.
